Continuing Krav Maga after rhinoplasty?

How much sparring do you do?

Realistically, you can avoid hard sparring to the head when going against other guys are using a full cage type of headgear to protect your nose during sparring.

Obviously you are going to be laid up for 2 weeks or so after surgery period because your whole face will be a giant bruise. But when you resume you can continue training while taking into account that you need to avoid trauma to the nose for a period of time. Plenty of protective gear for that, plus just working with your training partners and telling them to lay off head shots for a bit.

I can understand your hesitation but if the surgeon thinks you'll be fine to resume your usual activities then I would trust him. They are usually pretty quick to advise against activities that will destroy their work. Ask again to be sure!

If you have such low confidence in the doctor's advice who is going to operate on you, then why are you even considering going under the knife by him? You either believe in the doctor and following his advice or you don't believe him and don't get the operation.

I am in Krav Maga right now and I was thinking of getting a rhinoplasty to remove the hump on my nose and to make my tip smaller. I have heard of nose guards and one of the plastic surgeons I've been to says I should be able to resume the activity after a few weeks of recovering. However, I've seen other reviews and articles that said that you shouldn't do it anymore after surgery. Does anyone know the right thing to do? I really like Krav Maga and would hate to discontinue it, but I really want to get the surgery as well. Would it harm my nose if I continue it after surgery?
