It depends on what you're using the fight shorts for? The fight shorts in the photo you posted look exactly "like" board shorts. In fact, many fight shorts are called board shorts. There are two kinds of shorts in MMA, 1) Vale Tudo shorts, which are basically spandex bicycle shorts with MMA designs on them, and 2) are "board shorts" which are basically surfer's shorts with MMA designs on them. I think you should wear board shorts because they are more durable and people can't see an outline of your "junk."

Can you use fight shorts as board shorts? I know there's a couple of differences like no pockets and strings etc. but could you use them as board shorts and would the be good as normal workout shorts too?
