Can you make a living by doing Jiu-Jitsu?

There are those that make a living dong jiu jitsu. But it is unlikely for most. You make a living by teaching it or competing in mma. But the odds are against you making good money doing mma. It happens only for a select few. Most still have other jobs. The same can be said for those that tech. Many have other jobs. But there are some that do quite well and that is their only job.

Being honest you should go ahead and start it! See if you like it first of all, My Friend Started 8+ years ago Loved it and moved on to MMA fighting as there's more money in that these days, You can earn money at it from sponsorship's, winning state tournaments etc.. Or as my friend is planning on doing, is achieving his black belt and starting a Jujitsu/mma school/classes. Think about it a class of ten or more people you charge 20 per person that's 200 for teaching one class.

The only thing is its gonna take him in total 10 years for his black belt..

But apparently there are ways of getting it in 4years! which would be handier, you be what 17 then

Hers How: http://9nl.us/blackbelt . All The Best.

Edit: my mistake, it is judo that's the olympic sport. Always get the two mixed up.

Jiu-Jitsu is an Olympic sport. With that being said, there is money in it, however, the life of a professional athlete is not easy, especially fighters. Most fighters work 9 a.m.-5 p.m. jobs.

To make a living off of Jiu-Jutsu, you must either be a prodigy, or be the child of a prestigious family, like the Gracie family. Really slim chance, but if you're willing to put the effort, you may get somewhere in the sport.

Neh ... I thank most martial artist have reg day jobs

I am 13 years old and I am thinking of starting Jiu Jitsu next year. And maybe I want to do it for a living. Is there any big name organizations? Tournaments anything? How much will you get paid?
