Can someone fail a tang soo do test?

I can't speak to TSD or any other art, but here is my thoughts....

I was taught that when a student is invited to test they should pass the test easily. The real test is getting the invitation to test.

With that said, if a student freezes up, doesn't take the test seriously, or for is invited by an instructor who puts them up when they aren't ready, then they should fail.

Likewise, students shouldn't be invited until they are ready for the next rank.

So yes a student can fail, and they do from time to time but it should be a rare thing.

FYI, I have been on a few test boards and have failed a few students that others instructors have put up. Believe me it's a horrible feeling to fail a student, and in my cases, I really felt bad for the students, the instructor, and everyone involved as it was jut a bad deal all the way around.

If its a McDojo like my TKD school was, then no. If u notice that nobody fails, then i suggest u look else where for a school.

I hope so. I wouldn't want to train in a school where the rank is guaranteed no matter how bad you are.
