In the US the high school/college wrestling is folk style, there is also greco roman and freestyle but those are independent of school programs. It's not specific to the US. Wrestling is a much bigger deal in other countries. There should certainly be programs in Australia.

You can learn it here in Australia too. contact any university nearby and ask them about a wrestling club...often they have one. Also many MMA gyms have them as well.

I spent a while training some wrestling with some of my students who taught wrestling at the university.

I live in australia and want to learn wrestling that americans learn in high school and college. It looks great for fitness and plus its probably great for self defence ( ok I never get into fights , but just sayin!)

I'm going to California and Oregon next month, can I just turn up to a wrestling club and take lessons? Anyone know how much it costs?
