Best martial art for street fight?

almost all martial arts use knees and elbows, not just muay thai. never heard such rubbish

martial arts is not about knocking people out its about self defense, there is a difference. grow up

styles are made to adapt to your body type

There is no best style.

They will all work as long as you train right and have a good instructor.

Your size, body type and sex have nothing to do with the style you want to choose. People that think that your size and body type determine the style know little to nothing about martial arts

Most people will tell you there style is the best or they heard such and such is a great style,

The style is not important, what matters is how good your instructor is and how you train. The style is secondary, they all have there pro's and con's there are no superior styles.

If you have an instructor that can’t teach you how to fight, regardless of the style, what good would it do you?

Choose a school with a good instructor in the end that’s all that matters, that and how you train.

Its the person that has the ability to fight not the style

There are many good styles of martial arts. Kokoro's answer is excellent, but I disagree that "all" martial arts can be effective. Some are just outright made up junk. So, I'd counter with the disclaimer that any honest martial art taught well will be effective. Other than that, reread Kokoro's answer as it's excellent.

In most street fights your opponent won't know any martial arts so any is good to know. But the best is easily mma because it combines all of the best like boxing, kick boxing, must Thai, kick boxing, wrestling, and many more and combines them all, hence mixed martial arts. Btw if you practice boxing then you don't only have to use punches in an unregulated fight you can still learn some kick boxing and wrestling

Muay Thai! Most martial arts do not use knees and elbows because if you do it wrong, you could kill somebody. Muay Thai uses knees and elbows, because if you do it right, you could kill somebody.

if I was to be In a street fight, I would choose hapkido, using your opponents force against him,

It doesnt matter they always want to put more than ten just cause you want.

So yeah, whats the best martial art for a street fight? Has to be balanced, (ex: boxing you don't really use your legs that much), that can knock the f*** out of someone with a punch and/or dodge with training.

I used to do Karate but its too much bullsh*t involved, and in a real fight I think a Kick-Boxer would win or something like that. Oh and another thing, since I would like to thow some really strong punches and have reaction to dodge another one's, I would like that martial art to have a decent 1vs1, (ex in boxing you learn to punch for it to count towards score instead of KO)...

I don't know if you understand what I mean, but try to give examples and say why.

PS: I think Muay Thai or MMA might be good for me. (Kick-Boxing also may be good but as I said, they dont throw punches that hard, just to score)
