Check out movenat(or is it movnat?). It’s a workout system more based on movements and tasks that our more primitive ancestors might have had to do in a day. It usually involves certain difficult actions that would have been used to complete tasks/project or difficult movements needed to cross a certain terrain. They have youtube clips demonstrating bunch of exercises and some demonstration sets. They probably also have a website, but really haven’t looked it up. It feels like adult playground and few of the exercises requires that you be in the woods or have some special piece of equipment(like a big log).
On the more standard martial answer, check out chi gong and yoga.
I don't know exactly how "ancient" these are, but I'd recommend looking into the Hindu Pushup and Squat.
There's also a Hindu Sit Up, but I never cared for them much. Just not my thing.
Sit with your back in the wall, but with no chair for one minute, is good for the legs.
I can write many but try that first and tell me if that is what you are looking for to tell you more.:)
Hi, I'm just interested in finding some "ancient" (doesn't have to be accent but something different) exercises that work out your body but in generally different ways.
Example: I saw this leg pull up where you hang upside-down from a monkey bar and use a cup to scoop up water from at bucket on the floor, pull yourself up to transfer the water to another bucket above you.
Looking for other workouts that have some other elements to them or that focus on you body and mind as well.
Cheers,
E
