3 pounds a week is realistic, right?

Im a unprofessional bodybuilder, so I train to gain weight, not loose weight. That being said, as I diet and train different in the summer, I know a little about what it takes to loose weight, and a ton about burning fat.

FIRST OFF, when you work out, you gain muscle, and as muscle weighs more than fat, at first you may not loose, maybe even gain a couple pounds. Its just muscle, so don't worry.

3lbs a week is alot. Its possible, but its not good for you. You want to create a healthy body, not destroy yours with the illusion of a good looking body.

So what do I recommend? Swim, run, ride your bike, eliptical, anything for fat loss. Eat healthy, don't overeat but also don't starve yourself. Its okay to have a cheat day where you eat whatever once a week. At the gym do exercises that will tone your muscles. Cardio and gym every day is too much, you will overtrain. Remember, you are training to be healthy, not look healthy. If you focus on the first, eventually the second will come and it will be real.

Ill be straight up with you. 3lbs a week may be possible, but its not good for you. There are two things you need to do: 1st, never give up and keep working out forever. Mix up your workout routine so your body doesn't get used to it. And 2nd, set small goals. But make them realistic. Good luck, don't give up, get discouraged, and remember, no matter if you don't reach your goals or don't make as much progress as you wanted to, you still made progress from where you were.

(edit): Also, take coffee on cardio days 20-30 min before your workout. Its a wonderful natural fat burner.

DO NOT swim ... Unless you have complete control of your diet. I will explain why in a second.

Firstly Russell is right when he talks about putting weight on from lifting weights, so stick primarily to cardio activities, but do not cut out weight lifting completely because it is still good for weightloss. However 3 lbs is not unrealistic to lose when you are over weight by your amount. however as you progressively lose weight it will eventually become harder to lose. Do not be discouraged if you do not lose that amount each week. There will be some weeks where you wont lose anything but trust me your body is still losing fat.

If you find that you have been a few weeks without losing weight then change your exercise program because your body becomes accustomed to a certain exercise and makes weight loss difficult.

Now the reason why i say not to swim unless you have your diet under control.... Swimming is a fantastic exercise and mixing all forms of swimming works every muscle group of the entire body, it is like the complete package for exercise and cardio work. The problem with swimming is that it drops the core body temperature, this means the body becomes lethargic and thus makes the metabolism rate lethargic. To get the body working well again it needs calories to kick start the body. This is the reason why when you get out of the pool you are ALWAYS starving. Now as an exercise Swimming is fantastic, but if you are trying to lose weight, swimming can be a giant trap because you tend to eat an extra meal or larger meals because you are just so hungry.

Im not saying that you cannot swim, i am just saying that eat very lightly after it and have a good control of your diet after it. For weight loss though i tend to teach people to avoid it because it can be a huge hidden trap.

I ' m not much of a tea drinker usually but wanted to lose some weight so I started replacing snacks with a cup of Weight loss green store Tea. So far I'm down 8 pounds since I started skipping snacks. You'll probably want to combine this tea with better eating habits to make the changes last but it definitely seems to help with losing a few pounds. I will purchase again via weightlossgreenstore

Sounds good its not good to get big to fast its bad for the heart but you can still take supplements its better to be lean gain and not to chubb.
